Mahler Hautnah

3. October 2021, 11:00 / Gustav Mahler Komponierhäuschen Maiernigg

The inspiration for Alma Mahler Musikverein came from an open-air project entitled “Mahler Hautnah”. We performed Mahler´s 4th Symphony at the very place it was originally composed – his composing hut in Maiernigg at the Wörthersee. Mahler´s beautiful and introspective masterpiece reflects his deep exploration of the human condition and spirituality. Our performance aimed to dissolve the boundaries between performers and audience, following the motto: “In every performance, the work must be reborn.” The main goal of the project was to encourage people to participate in a new type of classical concert set in the midst of a forest.
